Try this doctor-approved smoothie for energy, immunity and heart health
ABC News' chief medical correspondent Dr. Tara Narula is not only a board-certified cardiologist, she's also an expert smoothie maker.
Narula previously owned a smoothie shop, where she mastered the art of creating smoothies that pack a nutritious punch.
Narula joined "GMA3" Thursday to share her recipe for Avena Appeal, a smoothie that she says is packed with nutrients to help boost energy, immunity and heart health.

One of the smoothie's main ingredients, oats, help with regulating blood sugar and are great for digestion, according to Narula.
The Greek yogurt in the smoothie provides protein and probiotics, while the mangoes, according to Narula, provide fiber, magnesium and potassium.
Try the smoothie in your kitchen!
